Dr. Pepijn Veefkind is an expert in the field of satellite remote sensing of aerosols and trace gases. He is an active researcher in field of climate change and air quality. Pepijn is the Principal Investigator for the TROPOMI (Tropospheric Monitoring Instrument) on the Sentinel-5 Precursor satellite mission. Also he is the deputy PI for the OMI (Ozone Monitoring Instrument) on the NASA EOS Aura satellite. Pepijn is working at KNMI and also affiliated with the TU Delft. Research theme Atmosphere Research The research interests of Pepijn Veefkind include remote sensing techniques for atmospheric composition observations, and the global trends in aerosols and trace gases, in relation to climate change and air quality. In additions he is interested in the development of new satellite missions.
