Rowshanfarzad Pejman

Pejman has completed a Bachelor of Applied Physics, a Masters of Medical Physics and a PhD in Medical Physics. After completing his MSc, Pejman joined the directory group at a medical cyclotron, where he worked for 8 years during which he developed novel techniques for production of a number of medical radioisotopes applicable for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. His PhD project title was “Improvement of EPID-based techniques for dosimetry and investigation of linac mechanical performance in advanced radiotherapy”, which was completed at the University of Newcastle, NSW with ten peer reviewed publications as first author. His methods were commercialized and are currently used in hospitals. Pejman joined the University of Western Australia in 2013. He became the UWA Medical Physics Program Coordinator in 2016. He also teaches several Medical Physics postgraduate units and supervises research projects. Pejman has over 80 peer reviewed publications and collaborates with several hospitals and research centers in Australia and overseas. Pejman was awarded the Faculty teaching excellence award for "Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning" in 2018, the "Faculty Commendation"in the category of “Individual Teaching” in 2019, two Guild's Students' Choice Awards in 2020, the Faculty teaching excellence award for “individual teaching” in 2021, and the UWA Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2021. He was also nominated for the UWA 2021 Safer Community Award for dedication and commitment to students safety, inclusion and wellbeing. Pejman is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA) which is administered by Advance HE in the UK.
