Dr. Lainas is currently Consultant Surgeon in the Department of Minimally Invasive Digestive Surgery of Antoine-Beclere University Hospital, Paris, France (Head of Department: Pr. Ibrahim Dagher). He was born in Athens, Greece in 1981. Dr. Lainas's research focuses on: i) minimally invasive surgery techniques, ii) bariatric surgery and experimental bariatric research, iii) laparoscopic liver surgery, iv) liver regeneration and optimization techniques for hepatocytes transplantation as an alternative to orthotopic liver transplantation (Ph.D. topic, resulting in numerous publications in international scientific journals, as well as a minimally invasive protocol of reversible partial portal vein embolization using absorbable embolizing material).
