个人简介
Jonathan Gero received the B.A.Sc. degree in engineering science—physics from the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada, in 2002, and the M.Sc. degree in applied mathematics and the Ph.D. degree in Earth and planetary sciences from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA, in 2004 and 2007, respectively.
He is currently a Researcher with the Space Science and Engineering Center, University of Wisconsin–Madison, Madison, WI, USA. He works on developing instruments to observe the Earth’s atmosphere on ground-based, aircraft, and satellite platforms, as well as analyzing their data to study atmospheric and climate change processes. He is the Mentor and a Technical Lead for the ground-based Atmospheric Emitted Radiance Interferometer (AERI) instrument operated by the U.S. Department of Energy and is responsible for overseeing the operation of the instruments at numerous field sites worldwide. He has been involved in dozens of field deployments of the AERI instruments and the Scanning High-resolution Interferometer Sounder (S-HIS) aircraft instrument with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Airborne Science Program and the Space Science and Engineering Center Portable Atmospheric Research Center (SPARC), University of Wisconsin–Madison.
