I have a long term interest in the PI3K signalling system and how it operates as a key signal integrator in a range of signallling networks controlling diverse cell responses, such as cell growth, migration and phagocytosis. Our work uses a variety of approaches including GM mice, classical biochemistry and cell imaging. We work on a specific signalling network in neutrophils involved in the delivery of responses such as production of reactive oxygen species, phagocytosis and chemotaxis but also on more broadly important signalling concepts that can be studied in cultured cells because of their universality.
