Pancras C.W. Hogendoorn is a professor of pathology, and dean of the Leiden University Medical Center. Apart from that he is guest professor at Oxford University and the Free University of Brussels. He is member of the Academia Europaea an honorary member of the Belgium Society of Pathology. He received the European Oswald Vander Vekenprijs (2008), the Corrine Farrel Award both in 1994 and 1998, and the Jeremy Jass Prize 2011 and 2015 and holds a doctorate honoris causa of Semmelweis University
