Olivier Collin

By training both a biologist and a computer scientist, I work currently for the CNRS as technical director of the GenOuest bioinformatics core facility (http://genouest.org) since 2007. Before, I was, for 14 years the manager of the computer centre of the Station Biologique, a CNRS marine laboratory in Roscoff. The different R&D projects carried out by GenOuest are exploring the different aspects of IT infrastructure for data analysis in biology (metadata management, computational portals, cloud computing, e-Science) or are targeted on specific methodologies, mostly NGS (Next Generation Sequencing). I am the coordinator of the CeSGO project that develops a virtual research environment for Life Sciences. I am also involved in different projects for the development of infrastructures for Biology and Bioinformatics at a regional or national level (Biogenouest, Institut Français de Bioinformatique).
