Oliver T. Fackler

Oliver T. Fackler received the Ph.D. degree in biology from Universität des Saarlandes, Germany, in 1997. Following a Postdoctorate at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), he joined the Department of Virology, Heidelberg University Hospital, in 2001, where he is currently a Professor and the Head of the section Integrative Virology, Center for Integrative Infectious Disease Research (CIID). His work is focused on the mechanisms by which human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) hijacks host immunology and cell biology to drive HIV pathogenesis.
