Elsiddig Noureldin

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher and trainer within the Entomology and vector control group of the National Center for Vector-borne Disease at Jazan, south-west of Saudi Arabia. I am a medical and urban entomologist and epidemiologist with substantial experience in the study of disease vectors with a particular interest in vector biology and control and epidemics of tropical diseases and dengue fever. My research interests include ecology and biology of vectors with special emphasis on the effects of climatic variables on the incidence of vector-borne diseases and the use of GIS in the entomological and epidemiological surveillance of vector-borne diseases and vector mapping. In addition, to supervising PhD and MSc students, I am an external guest lecturer at several Sudanese universities. I am the supervisor of the Insectary of the National Center for Vector-borne Diseases at Jazan. I also run training courses on vector biology and control including techniques for the morphological identification of vectors and their integration into vector capacity studies, vector surveillance, Integrated Vector Management (IVM), pesticides and pesticides resistance management, medical and urban entomology including practical sessions on vector identification techniques for the MSc medical entomology for disease control.
