I am basically working on both fundamental and applied realm of science. On one hand, I focus on the development of novel materials and their applications in environmental remediation of pollutants. Apart from that, by using high end instruments like- XPS, EXAFS, XANES, XRD, FTIR etc., I try to fundamentally understand the adsorbent-adsorbate interactions, synthesis and contaminant removal mechanisms, change in near crystal environment. Contaminants include- radionuclides, toxic metals, dyes, persistent organic pollutants, PAHs etc. Geochemical modelling of colloidal- metal interactions using PHREEQC, GWB workbench, HYDRA-MEDUSA is also my research interest.
