Nikolaos S. Tachos

Dr. Nikolaos S. Tachos received his Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, University of Patras and his thesis with title “Aerodynamic and Aeroacoustic analysis of Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine rotor blades”. He is a research assistant at the Unit of Medical Technology and Intelligent Information Systems (MEDLAB) at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the University of Ioannina. He is currently a post-doc associate researcher in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of University of Ioannina and in the Foundation for Research and technology – Greece, Department of Biomedical Research. Nikolaos S. Tachos has been involved in several National and International projects related to computational modelling in the field of Biomedical Engineering, related to hemodynamics, stent deployment atherosclerosis, modelling of human middle and inner ear and other. His major research interests include CFD analysis for understanding and assessing the flow dynamics of external and highly complicated internal flows, CFD analysis of external large scale models using hybrid technique of Detached Eddy Simulations and Finite Element modelling in bioengineering. His research involves also biomedical informatics, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
