Dr. Jecker’s research explores global perspectives in bioethics and philosophy, justice and resource allocation, and moral theory. Her research spans a range of topics, most notably sub-Saharan African philosophy; justice between generations; capabilities and human dignity; individual and societal aging; ethical issues associated with robots, including robotic companions and robots in aged care; and withholding and withdrawing medically futile treatments. Dr. Jecker has published over 200 articles and 4 books. Her most recent book, Ending Midlife Bias: New Values for Old Age (Oxford University Press, 2020), coins the term 'midlife bias' to refer to the privileging of midlife values across the lifespan.
