A Director of Translational Research Development in the Division of Rheumatology at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital and a Principal Investigator of the Brigham Rheumatoid Arthritis Registry (BRASS) a 1400 patient registry of RA subjects followed over 10 years in the R.B. Brigham Arthritis Center examining drug and disease outcomes in RA. As Director of the PACO and PARASS Initiatives, the programs have spearheaded the patient centered outcomes projects in the R.B. Brigham Arthritis Center which has served to realign rheumatoid arthritis care more toward the patient perspective. Earlier research has included epidemiologic studies on the determinants of recovery from Lyme Disease and prevention trials of tick-borne illness in conjunction with the CDC and local and state Departments of Health. Dr Shadick is a recipient of Arthritis Foundation, NIH, and Industry grants and serves on a number of advisory boards and grant review committees related to rheumatic disease. She has published extensively in rheumatology journals and lectures nationwide. Since 2002 she has been named as one of “America’s Top Doctors”.
