Nahla El-Ashmawy is currently the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University, EGYPT. Nahla is a Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The lab of Biochemistry Department does research in Biochemistry, Nanotechnology and Ecology. Nahla and Colleagues study the mechanisms of drug action on cellular and molecular level, the new biomarkers for diagnosis/prognosis of diseases, pathophysiology of disease and new targets for drug action and development, toxicity of environmental hazards and poisons and possible protective measures, and effect of nanoformulation on biological activity of drugs. Stem cell research is also conducted.
