Dr Abul Hasan Muhammad Bashar is a vascular surgeon working at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He graduated from Dhaka Medical College, the largest and oldest medical college in Bangladesh and did his PhD from Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, Japan. He is a post-doctoral fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and a fellow of the American College of Suegeons (ACS). Dr Bashar works in all major areas of vascular surgery including endovascular interventions for both arterial and venous diseases. He has more than 10 years' experience in the field of vascular surgery and performed more than 3000 open and endovascular procedures in his career so far. He also works at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital Limited, one of the largest multidisciplinary private hospitals in Dhaka. Dr Bashar has published more than 100 research articles and abstracts and speaks regularly at scientific conferences.
