His research interests focus on surveillance and survey methodologies for animal diseases with emphasis on infectious diseases. He is editor of a 2003 book entitled “Animal Disease Surveillance and Survey Systems: Methods and Applications”. Dr. Salman is the author of over 300 refereed papers in scientific journals and has participated in numerous conferences, and national and international meetings in over 30 years as a faculty member at Colorado State University. He is the Editor in Chief of Elsevier journal Preventive Veterinary Medicine. He also has served on the board of American Journal of Veterinary Research and is section editor for the epidemiology section of Animal Health Review.
