Mirela Beloiu Schwenke

My research interests revolve around ecology and ecosystem functioning at the interplay of biodiversity, forest ecology, natural disturbances, and remote sensing. Specifically, I focus on (1) the effects of climate change on spatial distribution and spatial patterns of tree species, (2) how tree species respond to drought events, and (3) what ecological adaptations help them cope with forest disturbances.
