Michela Svaluto Moreolo received the M.Sc. degree (with honors) in electronics engineering and the Ph.D. degree in telecommunications engineering from University Roma Tre, Rome, Italy, in 2003 and 2007, respectively. In 2004, she became a Teaching Assistant at Engineering Faculty, University Roma Tre, and from January to July 2004, she was a Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Semiconductor and Solid State Physics, Johannes Kepler University, Linz, Austria. From January 2007 to December 2008, she held a Postdoctoral position at the Applied Electronics Department, University Roma Tre. In January 2009, she joined CTTC. She is currently a Senior Researcher of the Communication Networks Division and the Coordinator of the Optical Transmission and Subsystems research line within the Optical Networks and Systems Department. Since September 2016, she is also a member of the Management Team of the CTTC, with the role of Project Management Coordinator. She has been actively involved in several National and EU-founded (FP6, FP7 and H2020) R&D projects. Her research interests include advanced transmission technologies and software-defined systems for future optical networks. Dr. Svaluto Moreolo is an IEEE Senior Member.
