Dr. Zaugg leads his successful research group which specialized on proteomics, transcriptomics, genetics, and more recently on metabolomics. His projects also investigate mechanisms of organ protection including stem cell research. Dr. Zaugg’s research has been consistently funded by the Swiss National Science Foundationand he is currently supported by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and the Canadian Anesthesia Research Foundation (CARF). He was the recipient of the 2005 Frontiers in Anesthesia Research Award from the Anesthesia Research Society.
