Mehmet K. Aktas

Mehmet K. Aktas received the BA degree in biology from the University of Rochester in 2002 and completed the medical school education at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He completed Internal Medicine residency training at the Cleveland Clinic and then proceeded to the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), where he completed advanced fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and cardiac pacing and electrophysiology. He received the MBA degree from the University of Rochester's Simon School. He is on the faculty at URMC as an associate professor of medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases and cardiac pacing, and electrophysiology. His clinical work involves the treatment of patients with a variety of complex heart rhythm disorders. His research is focused on improved risk stratification of patients with heart rhythm disorders and development of systems to enable early detection of arrhythmias.
