Hazrat Ali

I did B.Sc. in Chemistry, Botany and Zoology from University of Peshawar in 2000 and M.Sc. in Chemistry with specialization in Physical Chemistry from Institute of Chemical Sciences, University of Peshawar in 2002. Received Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with elective courses Teaching of Biology and Teaching of Chemistry from Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad in 2003. Joined the Department of Biotechnology, University of Malakand (UOM) as Lecturer in Physical Chemistry in March 2004. Completed M.Phil. in Chemistry with specialization in Environmental Chemistry from Department of Chemistry, UOM in 2012. Moved to the Department of Zoology, UOM as Lecturer in September 2013. Earned PhD in Chemistry with specialization in Environmental Chemistry from Department of Chemistry, UOM in 2018. Appointed as Associate Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry, UOM in January 2020. Currently leading Environmental Chemistry, Ecotoxicology and Applied Ecology Laboratory at Department of Chemistry, UOM. Has published 50 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as a reviewer for several reputed journals. Being a student of science, my research interest is broad, interdisciplinary, and dynamic. My areas of research interest include Environmental & Green Chemistry, Ecotoxicology, Applied Ecology, Environmental Science, and Environmental Education. Specific topics of investigation include environmental topics at the crossroad of physics, chemistry, biology and geology such as environmental assessment of xenobiotics in water, air, soil and biota; effects of existing and emerging chemical pollutants on human and environmental health; impact of global warming and global climate changes on biodiversity and human health etc. Furthermore, I am particularly interested in promoting environmental education at local, regional, and global level.
