Matias E. Melendez graduated in genetics from the National University of Misiones (Argentina). He received the master’s degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in 2006, working with cell therapy for arthrosis, and the Ph.D. degree from the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, France, working on defective and replication-competent viral vectors, based on the HSV-1 virus. Then, he developed a one-year Post-Graduation at the National University of Ireland— Galway, Ireland, working with the TRAIL apoptotic pathway. He developed his Postdoctorate work with oncolytic virotherapy and recombinant proteins for cancer therapy at the Molecular Oncology Research Center, Barretos Cancer Hospital, Brazil. He is an Associate Researcher and a Post-Graduation Professor with the Post-Graduation in Oncology in the former Institution, working with recombinant proteins, venom-derived proteins, and oncolytic viruses for cancer treatment.
