Ion channels and transporters are pivotal to regulating physiological function throughout the body. These proteins have been implicated in a host of neurological disorders, so by furthering our understanding of them and how they are regulated I seek to develop new therapeutic opportunities. My research utilises electrophysiological techniques coupled with molecular biology investigations.
