My work mainly focuses on climate change in High Asia and its impacts on glaciers and water resources and as well as on impacts of desert dust on glacier melt. I run several projects in Central Asia including an extensive meteorological and hydrological monitoring programme at high elevations. I supervise PhD students working on impacts of climate change on glaciers, glacier hazards, water availability, and agricultural production in this region.
