María Rodríguez-Cañón

María Rodríguez-Cañón received the B.S. degree in biomedical engineering from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona, Spain, in 2016, and the M.S. degree in biomedical engineering from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, in 2017. She is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in neuroscience with the Neuroscience Institute, Universitat Autnòma de Barcelona (UAB) and with the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST), Barcelona. She has been a member of the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de Enfermedades Neurodegenerativas (CIBERNED). For her final project in her undergraduate studies, she worked in a UPF spin-off company called Galgo Medical, which specializes in imaging software solutions for the medical devices industry. During her undergraduate studies, she also did an internship at the Guttmann Institute of Neurorehabilitation, Badalona, Spain, providing technical support to the Movement Analysis Laboratory. She joined the Biomedical Signal Processing and Interpretation Group, IBEC, in 2017, to develop her M.S. thesis on biological signal processing. Her Ph.D. degree is based on research into neuromodulation effects on the nervous system and the motor function recovery after spinal cord injury in animal and human models.
