Marcos da Silva Freire

I have worked at the biotech industry for almost 35 years in different positions from manufacturing to R&D. Along these years I have accumulated and developed extensive knowledge on parasitic biology, microbiology, vaccinology. In 1984, I joined Bio-Manguinhos, and in 1990, I became Chief of the Virological Technology Laboratory. Later, in 2005, I became Head of the Viral Vaccines Development Program. From 2005 to 2009, I was also Coordinator of the Network of Technological Development of Recombinant Vaccine Technology Development Program of Health Inputs at Fiocruz. In 2010, I became Technological Development Deputy Director and have been involved in several technology transfer and co-development projects, until 2017. Since 2018 I have worked as Senior Scientific Adviser.
