Sniadecki Marcin

I was born on 17 November, 1983 in Koszalin, Central Pomerania, Poland, where I received primary and secondary education. In year 2002 I started studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Gdańsk. During my studies, my interests in oncology, surgical oncology and history of medicine were developed in student scientific circles. I participated in many conferences, presenting my scientific achievements. I also had an opportunity to conduct medical staff training as part of a national cervical cancer screening program. During the 5th year of my studies I took part in SOKRATES-ERASMUS program and moved to Germany (Freiburg im Breisgau), which resulted in the commencement of a doctorate in the field of breast pathology. After my return to Poland, on the 6th year of studies I continued my medical passion to provide medical care for women suffering from breast diseases. I graduated in 2008 and received doctor’s diploma. After completing a one-year internship and a six-month voluntary work, in June 2010, I received an academic position of a teacher (assistant) at the Department and Clinic of Gynecology and Oncological Gynecology in my Alma Mater. During my work, I was involved in the EORTC 55994 project and became its active EORTC member (since 2013). In 2016, I started MBA healthcare studies at the Lazarski University in Warsaw. I defended my Ph.D. on cervical cancer in November 2018 in Poland, and obtained adjunct professor position. I finished breast specialist course in Germany (senology). I finished MBA healthcare studies in April 2021 with diploma. I am still working on my scientific thesis in Germany. In the future I intend to refine the German model of breast cancer care system to create a reference model in Poland. I am interested in the health market and the organization of healthcare. I believe that only a systemic solution can help improve the health of the society. My personal key-words are: slow medicine, breast cancer, senology, personalized medicine and ultrasound. I believe in personalized medicine, which is possible only with the participation of our patients in clinical trial programs, regardless of the funding source. Privately, I am a happy husband and father of two Children. I am a humanist, my passion is literature, I write poems and books. As an example, in the near future I plan issuing another novel and a document - an interview with cancer patients, as well as a simple textbook for the OB&GYN specialists, family medicine doctors, and others on breast diseases.
