María Fraga Corral holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences (2004-09), coursed two master's degrees (2009-11) and obtained her Ph.D. in Food Safety (2010-2015) at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). Along her research career she has developed postdoctoral stages at Tegasc Food Research Centre (Agriculture and Food Development Authority, Ireland), Mountain Research Centre (Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal) and University of Vigo (Spain). She has experience in analytical detection, validation methods, and extraction techniques which have been applied to develop different works in the field of food safety, nutrition and even circular economy. She has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles, 20 book chapters, participated in multiple international conferences and research projects, and served as invited reviewer.
