Madhury Ray

Madhury (Didi) Ray, MD, MPH, CEM is an innovator in public health emergency management working at the intersection of medicine, data, health equity, and public health in New York City. Most recently, she served as a Monkeypox Virus specialist supporting clinical response, mass vaccination units, surveillance, and community/provider engagement. Outside of response work, she is a Director in the Division of Environmental Health. Previous to working in NYC’s Health Department, Dr. Ray completed her M.D. at the Drexel University College of Medicine and trained in general surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of California in Los Angeles. She additionally completed a Masters in Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School with a concentration in Humanitarian Studies, Ethics, and Human Rights, and was a Fulbright Scholar in Ukraine during the Orange Revolution. She is a fellow of the Katz International Center for Conflict Resolution and is one of 2021's 40 Under 40 Rising Leaders in Public Health.
