ming-Lon Young

Dr. Young is well-known nationally and internationally for his work in cardiac electrophysiology. He is a pioneer in ablation therapy in children, having performed more than 2,500 cases with outstanding outcomes. Prior to joining Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, he directed the pediatric electrophysiology and pediatric cardiology divisions at the University of Miami. After earning his Bachelor of Medicine degree from National Taiwan University School of Medicine, Dr. Young received his Master of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed two fellowships at the University of Miami School of Medicine, one in pediatric cardiology and the other in pediatric cardiac electrophysiology. He holds memberships in the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Cardiology, Adult Congenital Heart Association and Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Young has been named Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS), which is the highest distinction awarded by the organization. He is also a certified cardiac device specialist. Dr. Young has lectured and published extensively about pediatric cardiac arrhythmias, including mapping and ablation, and sudden cardiac death in children. He is regularly recognized in the "Best Doctors in America" list.
