J. Lopez

José J. López was born in Valencia, Spain, in 1969. He received the M.S. degree in telecommunications engineering in 1992 and the Ph.D. degree in 1999, both from the Technical University of Valencia, Spain. Since 1993, he has been involved in education and research with the Communications Department, Technical University of Valencia, where currently, he is an Associate Professor, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on signal processing and digital audio processing. His current research activity is centered on digital audio processing in the areas of 3-D sound, wave field synthesis, acoustic spaces modeling with FDTD and DGW, efficient filtering structures for loudspeaker correction, algorithms in signal processing, and development of multimedia software in real time. He has published more than 60 papers in international technical journals and at renowned conferences in the fields of audio and acoustics and has lead several research projects. Dr. López was workshop Co-Chair at the 118th Convention of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) in Barcelona and has served on the committee of the AES Spanish Section for five years, currently as secretary of the Section. He is a member of the AES and the Acoustical Society of America (ASA).
