Her current research interests concern the areas of adaptive learning environments, web-based education, ITS, educational software, natural language processing tools, and computer science education. She has won seven awards, has participated in 30 national and European Union projects, in 15 of which she was the project manager and/or senior scientist, and has four invited talks to her credit. She has served as a program committee member of several international conferences and coorganizer of two international workshops. She has 41 publications in international journals, 11 contributions in international book chapters, 135 in proceedings of international conferences, and more than 800 citations to her research work. She is a member of the AACE, IADIS, EDEN, Kaleidoscope, LeMoRe, and the IEEE.
