Dr. Mary Fowler is a professor of pathology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She also has an appointment in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the Department of International Health.

As a pediatrician and clinical researcher Dr. Fowler has devoted her career to prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT) and treatment and care of pediatric HIV infection. Her research focuses on clinical trial strategies to reduce HIV transmission during pregnancy and breastfeeding, neurocognitive and growth outcomes of HIV exposed but uninfected children, bone health of HIV infected mothers on lifetime antiretrovirals and testing new antiretroviral drugs to prevent HIV among high risk but uninfected women.
