Maria F. Mora

Peter Willis is a Principal Member of the Technical Staff at JPL, as well as the Group Supervisor of the Chemical Analysis and Life Detection Group, and Adjunct Professor of Chemistry and the University of Kansas. He received his PhD in chemistry from Cornell University in 1999. From 2014-2023 he was a staff scientist for the Mars Perseverance Mission, and served as tactical science lead for mission operations. His current research focuses on the development of the next generation of liquid-based chemical analysis instrumentation for spaceflight missions seeking signs of life.
