I received my medical degree at the School of Medicine (1978), and I gained my PhD at the University of Valencia (Spain), this latter on the subject of developmental neurotoxicology of the visual system: the effects of drug and alcohol exposures in the developing retina and optic nerve (1991) receiving the 2nd Award of the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology to the Doctoral Thesis (1992). Medical Position as Ophthalmologist of the University Hospital Dr. Peset and Center of Medical Especialities Monteolivete since 1980. Scientific pre- and postdoctoral education at the Instituto de Investigaciones Citológicas (Director: Prof. Santiago Grisolia/Lab of Cell Pathology - Dr. Consuelo Guerri: 1986-1991) and at the Research Center of the University Hospital La Fe, Valencia (Lab of Cell Biology - Prof. Jaime Renau-Piqueras; 1991-2001).
