Marcellin Atemkeng

Marcellin Atemkeng received the Ph.D. degree in big data and statistical signal processing from Rhodes University, South Africa, in 2016. He was a Signal Analyst with VASTech, a telecommunication industry in Stellenbosch, South Africa. From 2017 to 2018, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Square Kilometre Array-related projects. Since 2019, he has been a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Mathematics, Rhodes University, and the Coordinator of the Rhodes AI Research Group (RAIRG). He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and was a 2019 recipient of the Kambule Doctoral Award for recognizing and encouraging excellence in research and writing by doctoral candidates at African universities in any area of computational and statistical sciences. His research interests include big data, statistical signal processing, artificial intelligence, deep learning, and modern astronomical data processing.
