Her research focuses on the study of adult osteonecrosis and osteoarthritis, bone grafting and cell-based therapy, and factors influencing the long-term outcome of total joint replacement. Working in collaboration with orthopaedic surgeons, residents, and fellows, Dr. Jones is studying the role of bone marrow cells in the pathogenesis of osteonecrosis. The team is also evaluating cell-based therapy for this disorder. Furthermore, outcomes-based studies continue to evaluate the effect of biomaterials, surgical technique, and patient-related factors on the long-term outcome of total joint replacement.
