His primary lines of research have been directed toward the study of nutrition, food and lifestyles in children and adolescents, with the aim of preventing the early onset of chronic diseases related to nutrition, especially childhood obesity. He earned different research awards and published more than 500 articles indexed in scientific journals, as well as more than 70 chapters of books.
