Luciano Huergo

I studied biology at Universidade Federal do Parana, Brazil, and obtained my Ph.D. in biochemistry at the Universidade Federal do Parana in 2006. I have been working as a professor at the Universidade Federal do Parana since 2008. I worked as a visiting student at the John Innes Center UK (2004) and as a visiting professor at Institute for Glycomics Australia (2012) and at the Tubingen University Germany (2018) as a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt foundation. The major focus of my current research is to understand the regulation of metabolism in bacteria. I am also interested in microbial biodiversity and isolation of novel microbes aiming at the identification novel enzymes and bioactive molecules.
