Lucia Vergauwen

I'm project coordinator in the Zebrafishlab at the University of Antwerp. We investigate mechanisms of toxicity and describe them using adverse outcome pathways (AOPs). We develop AOP-based approaches for the safety evaluation of chemicals using alternatives to animal testing such as the zebrafish embryo. Our main focus is on endocrine disruption and particularly thyroid hormone system disruption.
