My general research interests are focused on the use of DNA technology to investigate the ecology and evolutionary history of different species. At present, the work we are doing is aimed at investigating population histories in the context of environmental change during the Late Pleistocene (i.e. the last ice age), using ancient DNA technology. Specific projects are underway on several different taxa, including mammoth, lemmings, cave lions, brown bears, otters and ptarmigan.
