My research focuses on luminous and massive stars, whose mass exceeds ten solar masses at birth, and which collapse into neutron stars or black holes at death. I am interested in massive star feedback, in the physics of their stellar winds, and in massive binaries with compact companions. Massive stars are among the progenitors of supernovae, gamma-ray bursts, and gravitational wave sources. I strive to understand all aspects of massive star lives from their formation to their demise, as well as their cosmic influence.
In my work, I use the largest space and ground based telescopes observing across the electromagnetic spectrum, in order to shed new light on some of the most urgent questions in modern astrophysics.
