Leo Shen received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry from McGill University in 2018 and 2020, respectively. He worked as a graduate student in the laboratory of Dr. Jerry Pelletier, where he used genetic screening technology to elucidate mRNA translation mechanisms as modifiers of drug response. His interests lie in finding modulators of both translation initiation and termination, with a focus on rocaglate-based screening and premature termination codon readthrough. Currently, he is a medical student a Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as a part of the entering class of 2020.
