His lab focused on five main fields, including translational diagnostic science, big data epidemiology, computational biology, evidence-based medicine, and artificial intelligence in clinical medicine. One of the biggest achievement of the lab is the finding the association between the deadly cardiovascular complications, aortic dissection or aortic aneurysm rupture, and the use of a common antibiotic, fluoquinolone. The findings result in the change the global antibiotics prescription guideline by the US Food and Drug Administration.

Dr. Lee has won several research awards in national or world EM or critical care conferences. To date, he has published more than 180 scientific publications, with more than 5,500 citations (H-index 42) that ranks him as the top scientists in several fields of google scholar. He has served on national committees, including the government expert panels on emergency medicine and numerous study advisory sections.
