Thirkell Laurent

Laurent Thirkell is a research engineer at CNRS/LPC2E space laboratory, he received his PhD in 1991. He is a COSIMA Co-Investigator since 2006 and was responsible of the ion gun of the COSIMA TOF-SIMS instrument onboard the ESA mission Rosetta. He is responsible for a laboratory TOF-SIMS mass spectrometer in use at LPC2E institute. He is developing a LAMS (Laser Ablation Mass Spectrometry - Orbitrap mass analyzer) instrument since 2008. He is responsible of instrumental performances for four TRL 5/6 subsystems which will be integrated into 3 projects in cooperation with GSFC (AROMA, CORALS, CRATER) funded by NASA and the French national space agency (CNES).
