Leonardo M. Fabbri

Leonardo M. Fabbri, was Professor of Respiratory and Internal Medicine at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (2000-2016) and still is Honorary Professor (Eminent Scholar) of Respiratory and Internal Medicine at the University of Ferrara (2017-to date). He received doctorate in Medicine and Surgery, University Padua in 1972 (110/110 summa cum laude), Board in Occupational Medicine, University Padua in 1975 (70/70 summa cum laude), Board of Respiratory Medicine, University Bologna in 1978 (70/70 summa cum laude). . Visiting Research Fellow, Department of Respiratory Diseases, Tulane University (1980-1981) and at the Cardiovascular Research Institute, University California, San Francisco, USA (1981-1983). Served as Editor/Associate Editor for the European Respiratory Review, European Respiratory Monograph, European Respiratory Journal, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Lancet Respiratory Medicine, European Journal of Clinical Investigation, Canadian Respiratory Journal, Polish Journal of Internal Medicine, Respiratory Research. He was one of the founding partners of the Global Initiative on asthma (GINA) and of the Global Initiative on Obstructive Lung Disease. (GOLD). He was President of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) 2007-2008. He has published > 600 papers in peer reviewed journal (Scopus) plus several book chapters. His April 2021 Hirsch Index is 121 in Google Scholar, and 100 in Scopus.
