He received numerous awards for his basic and clinical studies on renal disease as well as peritoneal fibrosis. He was the Executive Investigator in several clinical trials such as the studying of recombinant human erythropoietin in dialysis patient, low molecular weight heparin in hemodialysis unit. Now he is an active member of other international academic societies (ASN, EDTA, APSN). For his distinguished academic contributions, Dr. Hung has been honorably elected to be in the Editorial Board (2005~2008) of the Blood Purification, a famous and the official journal of International Society of Blood Purification (SCI journal, I.F. 2.1).
In public life, he serves on medical committees (including TSN) and was appointed a member of the Panel of Experts and a Consultant Nephrologist for the National Health Bureau, Taiwan.
In addition to having published over 120 scientific original articles, Dr Hung has written over 70 educational articles and five textbooks for public awareness of Kidney diseases. Now he is the Vice Superintendent of the NTUH, also a Clinical Professor of Medicine, NTU since 2010.
