Kimberly S Canter

Kimberly Canter, Ph.D., is a Research Scientist in the Nemours Center for Healthcare Delivery Science and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Thomas Jefferson University. She is also the Core Director for the Intervention Methodology: Connection and Provision through Technology (IMPACT) Core of the Research Expanding Access to Child Health (REACH) Center, a federal Center of Biomedical Research Excellence. Dr. Canter received her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan, where she was a Shipman Scholar and graduated with Honors in Psychology and Social Anthropology. She received her doctorate in 2015 from the University of Kansas in Clinical Child Psychology. Dr. Canter conducts research focused on reducing psychosocial risk and preventing posttraumatic stress for families of children with chronic illnesses, including cancer and cystic fibrosis. She has a program of research in digital health, developing and testing psychosocial interventions for parents of children with chronic illnesses. Dr. Canter has a specific interest in research focused on reducing health inequities and improving access to high-quality psychosocial care for individuals from historically underrepresented and minoritized groups. Dr. Canter also supervises and mentors multidisciplinary trainees and junior investigators through her roles in the Center for Healthcare Delivery Science and REACH Center. She frequently presents at scientific conferences and serves on several committees within Nemours and nationally.
