Executive leadership, with the added benefit of hands-on experience: setting up servers; creating architectures and bringing them from the whiteboard into reality in an Amazon EC2/RDS setting or in a dedicated lab; designing computational pipelines and ensuring they run reliably; developing modeling processes and describing how the end-user can rightly interpret the result; and helping daughter upgrade her iPhone OS without losing her contact data (ok, was probably mostly lucky on that last one). In-depth knowledge of genomic data analysis and large scale scientific computing, as well as data-driven approaches to non-profit (and for-profit) business analytics and marketing.
