Karsten Wieczorek

Karsten Wieczorek received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Ruhr-University of Bochum, Bochum, Germany. He is a Senior Manager at FAB1, Global Foundries' award-winning multibillion-dollar manufacturing facility in Dresden, Germany. He and his team support the introduction of new semiconductor products into Global Foundries' Dresden Fab, leveraging Global Foundries' leading edge transistors and power-efficient technologies. He closely interacts with customer engineering teams to produce their most advanced designs, preparing them for rapid introduction to high-volume manufacturing. During his 13 years with AMD/Global Foundries, he has served in various R&D roles within the Process and Product Integration group, focusing on keeping microprocessor products and technologies at the forefront of performance, power efficiency, and manufacturability. He is the author or a coauthor of various papers on submicrometer materials and integration. He is the holder of numerous patents.
